Sony Consoles, Games and Accessories

Beginning with the PlayStation’s launch, Sony has been a part of the video gaming landscape in Japan since 1993 and North America since 1995. They’ve released a number of consoles and handhelds in the PlayStation family since then, with the PlayStation 2 currently standing as the best-selling console of all time, with over 154 million sold worldwide.

Sony has strong ties with many developers, including Square Enix (Final Fantasy VII, VIII and IX were released only on the first PlayStation, with X and X-2 exclusive to the PlayStation 2 until their re-release on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita). One name most synonymous with Sony’s consoles is the Naughty Dog studio, which is responsible for the Crash Bandicoot series as well as Nathan Drake’s adventures in Uncharted and Joel and Ellie’s story in The Last of Us.
